This summer, I was a returning software engineering intern at Target headquarters in Minneapolis. Along with a peer intern on my team, I designed and implemented a dynamic installation guide using TypeScript and React, which is a critical part of a long-term initiative to comprehensively catalog all of Target's hardware technology assets. To effectively plan and visualize the user interface, I created detailed wireframes in Adobe XD and ran accessibility checks on the designs. I also performed rigorous cross-browser compatibility testing to guarantee consistent functionality across various web browsers and devices. This experience gave me the opportunity to further advance my technical front-end skills, explore various focuses within web design, and enhance my ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, iterative development environment.

Last summer, I contributed to the creation of an internal application designed to streamline the payment process for guests using debit cards or checks. My role primarily focused on front-end development, where I also utilized TypeScript and React to build a user-friendly interface that enabled employees to handle payments efficiently and with ease. On the back-end, I used Kotlin to make API calls and ensure seamless data integration and communication between the application's front and back ends. I also conducted code reviews to ensure quality and adhere to industry best practices in an Agile ecosystem.

During my software engineering internship at Intel, I developed a Python script for version control that efficiently monitored and recorded changes across a directory of files. This tool was designed to operate seamlessly in a multi-user environment, ensuring comprehensive tracking of file modifications. Additionally, I optimized the script to handle large volumes of data, which resulted in a substantial reduction in system load and ensured reliable performance under heavy usage. I also collaborated with cross-functional teams to integrate the script into the existing workflow, significantly improving operational efficiency.

  • Oracle APEX
  • Jaspersoft
  • SQL

During my summer internship at The J.M. Smucker Company, I focused on optimizing existing systems to enhance operational efficiency. A key project involved a comprehensive redesign of an Oracle APEX application used for supply chain product tracking. This project required an in-depth analysis of the application's functionality and user interface, resulting in significant improvements in both performance and user experience. Additionally, I developed a Bash shell script to automate various previously manual and time-consuming tasks. This automation reduced the need for after-hours support by 50%, leading to a substantial decrease in operational costs and a marked improvement in overall efficiency.

Data & Metrics Team Lead & Help Desk Supervisor

  • Data Analytics
  • Tableau
  • Leadership
  • Customer Service

At the DoIT Help Desk on campus, I've held several key roles, including Data & Metrics Team Lead and Help Desk Quality Assurance, which is the highest level of training. As the Data & Metrics Team Lead, I developed and implemented interactive Tableau dashboards with impactful data visualizations, optimizing Help Desk operations and boosting productivity. My work involved analyzing complex datasets and creating visual reports that highlighted key performance metrics and operational inefficiencies. By translating raw data into actionable insights, I was able to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement within our processes.

In my role as Quality Assurance, I supervise a team of over 100 employees, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency for a seamless customer experience. I collaborate closely with advanced support teams to resolve complex technical issues and provide comprehensive training to Help Desk agents, significantly improving case handling and customer service. My contributions have included improving system performance and operations, for which I was recognized as Agent of the Month for demonstrating exceptional initiative and going above and beyond.
